As proud members of the Community Transport Association, our Mini Bus Scheme helps keep voluntary organisations, sports clubs, community and faith groups, schools, and charities across the Tees Valley moving with affordable transport. #DriveForwardTeesValley

Our Fleet

We have two 16-seat minibuses, both fully wheelchair accessible, available for hire with or without a driver. Whether you need transport for a few hours or an entire weekend, we’ve got you covered.

We’re excited to announce the addition of a third minibus with 14 seats, giving priority to community groups in the Redcar area.

Drivers

  • Use your own driver: Groups can provide their own driver, but for insurance purposes, they must:
    • Hold a valid UK driving licence.
    • Be aged 21–69.
    • Have at least 2 years of driving experience.
    • Complete a 30-minute induction after your group becomes a member.
  • Need a driver? No problem! We have a pool of dedicated volunteer drivers who generously give their time. Please ask about availability when booking.

Costs

  • Annual Membership: £50 (renewable each April).
  • Journey Costs: Calculated based on estimated mileage to cover vehicle running costs and volunteer expenses.
    • We’ll provide an estimate using your postcodes.
    • A confirmed price will be invoiced after the minibus returns to base.

  • Give details of any conviction within the last 5 years or any prosecuting pending. Has any period of a ban from driving been operative within the last 5 years?
  • Give details of any at fault accidents whilst driving a motor vehicle in the last 3 years:
  • Please detail any medical condition, or medical history (whether physical or mental, including defective vision not corrected by glasses or hearing loss not corrected by a hearing aid) that may affect your ability to drive a minibus – please also detail any medication that may impact on your operation of heavy machinery or driving ability that you are currently taking, including dosage.
  • To conduct a Driving Licence check online the license holder to be present throughout the process and in possession of the following: Photo Card Driving Licence (for cross referencing against on line information); National Insurance number.I consent to a Driving Licence check to be undertaken every 6 months and for a record of this to be stored on file in compliance with GDPR policies for TVRA.
